The Pioneer Square South/Pioneer Square North stations are light rail stations on the MAX Blue and Red lines in Portland, Oregon. It is considered the central station on the MAX system, although the Eastside and Westside MAX lines technically end/begin just past the Galleria and Library stations to the west. It originally served the Yellow Line from 2004 and 2009 until its relocation to the Portland Transit Mall.
The platforms are built into the sidewalks of Yamhill and Morrison streets and are part of Pioneer Courthouse Square, Downtown Portland's focal point.
Pioneer Courthouse Square hosts many popular events year round. TriMet maintains a ticket office in the Visitor's Information Center on the square's grounds.
Popular shopping areas include Portland's downtown Macy's and Nordstrom department stores.
The Portland Transit Mall's northbound lines on 6th Avenue connect to the MAX along the east side of Pioneer Square. Southbound lines are on 5th Avenue, and can be accessed at the next eastbound station as well.
There is transfer to the Green and Yellow lines on the Transit Mall at Pioneer Courthouse/Southwest 6th and Pioneer Place/Southwest 5th stations.
